Each row of mobile shelving has an electric motor drive, with rollers under the shelves moving along tracks laid on the ground. Two rows of back-to-back shelves are installed on a mobile chassis, arranged in multiple groups. Each chassis has multiple rollers and drive motors. By pressing the control button, the drive motor drives the entire chassis and its shelves and goods via chain transmission, moving along two or more tracks laid on the ground (or trackless - magnetic strip attraction), allowing forklifts to access the moved area for storage and retrieval. Mobile shelving improves space utilization; only one aisle is needed for a group of shelves. In the same space, mobile shelving has a much higher storage capacity than conventional fixed shelving.
